The Crooked River Watershed Council is especially proud of stream restoration conducted on Mill Creek, a tributary in the upper portion of the Crooked River watershed. Flowing out of the Mill Creek Wilderness, stream habitat conditions had become degraded due to steep eroding banks, an incised channel, and a lack of riparian vegetation. The stream conditions raised concerns with fish biologists about the health of the red-band trout population. The Watershed Council partnered with several private landowners, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Oregon Department of Forestry to restore in-stream and riparian conditions.
