The council meets every third Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm at the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center in Burns.

One program the council is especially excited about is their educational video project titled "Value and Success of Juniper Management."   This project involves a partnership with the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, Burns Bureau of Land Management, Eastern Oregon Agriculture Research Center, Oregon State University, the Harney County Court, and several Harney County Landowners.  The video will showcase the value and success of juniper management.  Juniper encroachment is a major problem in this area of Oregon.  A short, 15 minute version will answer for the average person traveling through eastern Oregon the question, “Why are you cutting down all of those trees?”  A longer version will provide more in-depth education on the differences between commercial conifers and invasive junipers.
