The Councils meets the second Thursday of each month at 6pm.
The Council has started three major projects with diverse landowners and partners that will address several natural resource concerns for the North Santiam. (1) Hatch Airport Fish Passage and Habitat Restoration Project is a partnership with four landowners on a side channel in the lower reach of the North Santiam Watershed that includes replacing a culvert to improve water flow and fish passage to off-channel and backwater habitat, removing invasive plant species and restoring wetlands and riparian forests. (2) Snake Deford Floodplain Restoration Project is a partnership with six landowners to improve fish habitat for anadromous fish species, improve water quality, resolve flooding and erosion problems, remove invasive plant species and establish native riparian plants. (3) Stayton Riverfront Land Acquisition is a partnership with the City of Stayton to help the city plan and implement restoration and educational opportunities on this newly acquired riverfront property.
