The Scappoose Bay Watershed Council meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7 PM at their office at the Scappoose Bay Marina (Warren, OR). The Council recognizes the need to facilitate a broader community discussion about the future of the natural resources in their watershed. After completing a couple of key studies, they are developing larger-scale projects that will help to protect and enhance salmon bearing creeks and one of the few remaining freshwater, tidally-influenced bays on the Lower Columbia River system. They are working with local schools and community volunteers to conduct a watershed-wide monitoring program in order to really understand the health of local creeks and wetlands.
