Within the last year the Siuslaw Watershed Council (SWC) has implemented many restoration, monitoring, and education projects.  The SWC has officially added the Coastal Lakes area to the Council’s service area.  The Siuslaw Riparian Restoration project involved the completion of the sixth year of distributing free native riparian plants and associated technical advice to private non-industrial landowners.  Partners for the project include the Siuslaw National Forest, industrial timber companies, state agencies, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and landowners.  Over 290 landowners have increased the stream or lakeside vegetation on their property through the program.
