2015 Dedicated Service Award
At its annual Fall Gathering in November, the Network of Oregon Watershed Councils honored Liz Vollmer-Buhl of the Siuslaw Watershed Council and Amy Stiner of the South Fork John Day Watershed Council with its annual Dedicated Service Award. The award, in its second year, honors recipients for their outstanding leadership and dedication to the stewardship of Oregon's watersheds. Vollmer-Buhl has a long and respected history of leadership with the Siuslaw Watershed Council and has also made significant contributions to the Network. Stiner is newer on the scene, but has brought tremendous energy and skill to the South Fork John Day Watershed Council, significantly increasing its scope and capacity over the past two years.
The Fall Gathering was held November 2-4 at the Valley River Inn in Eugene. The annual conference, jointly sponsored by the Network and Oregon Association of Conservation Districts, features networking and training opportunities for council and district staff, as well as board members. Individuals were honored at an evening banquet on November 3.
